Your town, your association, in the paper
Three hundred and sixteen towns in the Aube have no website. Fourteen have one that no longer answers. Around twenty publish only inside a closed mobile app. This desk exists for them: a local body can submit its own information, with its photographs, and follow what happens to it.
What you get
- It is free, and it will stay free: the paper has no paywall and charges local bodies nothing.
- You grant us no exclusivity. Publish the same information wherever and whenever you like.
- Every photograph carries the credit you give. Your name, not ours.
- You can ask for any content to be taken down at any time, through a form, and we answer in writing.
- You can see where each submission stands: received, under review, kept, published, or declined with a reason.
What we do with what you send
- A member of the newsroom reads every submission. Nothing is ever published automatically, not even from a town hall.
- Most often we write an article from your announcement and credit the source. The words are ours, the information is yours.
- Sometimes we run the announcement verbatim. It then carries an "Official announcement" label and the name of the body.
- An event joins the events listing and your town page.
- Your photographs are republished with their credit, after re-encoding: technical file data, including GPS position, is stripped.
What we do not do
- We do not resell your photographs and we transfer them to no third party.
- We do not use them to illustrate advertising.
- We do not publish election campaign material or partisan statements.
- We do not publish a photograph in which a minor is identifiable, even with consent. The form refuses it.
Who can open an account
- A town hall in the Aube: verification is automatic, through the email address that the French public administration directory publishes for your town.
- An association or club whose RNA or SIREN number is on the register: verification is done by the newsroom, since no open register publishes an address.
- An inter-municipal body, a school, an institution: write to the newsroom and we will open the account by hand.
