Syndication and reuse of our content

AubeActu never reproduces another paper's text, standfirst or photographs. We ask for the same, and we set out here exactly what is allowed, what is not, and how to credit us.

The feeds

Every feed exists in three formats at the same address, extension aside: .xml, .atom.xml, .json. They carry the 30 most recent items — headline, standfirst, date, byline and link. Never the body of the article.

A single town

Each of the 431 towns has its own feed: swap the slug in the address above.

Pages declare their own feed in their HTML head: an aggregator pointed at a section finds that section's feed, not the general one.

What you may republish

  • The headline, as written.
  • The standfirst, or an extract under 400 characters.
  • The publication date and the byline.
  • A clickable, followed link (no nofollow) to the original article.
  • Automatic display of our feeds on your site, commercial use included, as long as the link stays live.
  • Calendar events sourced from DATAtourisme and town halls: they are openly licensed, and you must keep their original attribution.

What you may not republish

  • The full text of an article, even with a link, even with our name on it.
  • Our photographs and illustrations. Some belong to contributors or to third-party sources: they are not ours to license.
  • Our visuals with the credit removed or covered. Putting your mark on someone else's image is taking their work.
  • A rewrite that follows our article sentence by sentence with no work of your own and no source credit.
  • Including the corpus in any training, fine-tuning or evaluation dataset without a written agreement.

How to credit us

The name of the paper, a followed link to the article, and the date. Nothing more, nothing less.

Example

AubeActu — Headline of the article, aubeactu.com, 17 October 2026

The same link in HTML

<a href="https://aubeactu.com/troyes/mon-article">AubeActu</a>

A nofollow link, or a mention with no link at all, does not meet the condition: reuse is then no longer allowed.

Language models

Reading, indexing, summarising and quoting with attribution and a link: allowed. Including the corpus in a training set: written agreement required. A robots.txt file governs who may download a page; it says nothing about what may be done with it afterwards. The full position, in French and English, is in /ai.txt, also served at /.well-known/ai.txt.

Headline, standfirst and link may be reused provided AubeActu is named and the original article is linked. Full text and photographs: no reproduction without written agreement.

Asking for more

A partnership, a wider reuse, a training agreement: write to us. We answer, and agreement is possible. It is the asking that is mandatory, not the refusal.

What we owe you in return

If we pick up one of your stories, we check it, we rewrite it and we credit you with a link. If we get it wrong, the correction is dated and visible on Corrections. If a reuse of ours looks unfair to you, write to us: we take it down.
